Peru - La Oroya, the toxic city
It is a dark city surrounded by a mountain eaten away by acid rains. La Oroya - 3800 meters high and 175 kilometers from Lima in Peru - is one of the 10 most polluted cities in the world according to the Blacksmith Institute 2007 report. Post-disaster Indonesia
Reportage assigned by Caritas France in the North of the Indonesian archipelagos. Caritas has been in Aceh and Nias island since 2004 working on a group of humanitarian projects after the December 2004 tsunami and the March 2005 earthquake. It also works on the rehabilitation of former rebels of the GAM (Movement for a Free Aceh) into the civil society.L'Indonésie après les catastrophes Reportage réalisé en février 2008 pour Caritas France au nord de l'archipel Indonésien. Philippe Brault is back from Pennsylvania, USA where he did a feature on an American highschool's daily life. His last story in Kosovo made last March will be published in the French Geo Magazine at the end of this month. Johann Rousselot is back from the Indian state of Orissa. There he completed his in-depth project on the indigenous populations, landless farmers and lowest castes people who are fighting for their survival against an ever growing mining industry and his political lobby. His next move will be toward London where he will meet two fashion designers favorite's spots in the British capital. Johann Rousselot est rentré de l'Etat de l'Orissa en Inde, où il a achevé son travail sur la lutte de survie des populations indigènes, paysans sans terres et basses castes, face à l'industrie minière. Prochainement il photographiera le Londres de deux créateurs de mode. |
