Born in 1970, Michaël Zumstein is a freelance photographer and has been a member of the Oeil Public collective since 2001. He concentrates mainly on national and international press assignments and personal projects.
Since 1996, he has devoted himself to the situation in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa and more specifically to the wartorn Democratic Republic of Congo, formerly Zaire.
In the 2000-2001 period, Pantin's Mayor's Office commissioned him to complete a full report on the residents of the Cité des Courtillières.
Along with these assignments, he has maintained regular collaborations with the Swiss newspaper Le Temps, namely in the area of portraits.
